There are no numbers on the face. Birds are used to tell the time instead of numbers:
12 - House Finch
11 - White-breasted Nuthatch
10 - White-throated Sparrow
9 - Northern Cardinal
8 – Black-capped Chickadee
7 – Mourning Dove
6 – Northern Oriole
5 – Tufted Titmouse
4 – House Wren
3 – Blue Jay
2 – Northern Mockingbird
1 – American Robin
The clock uses three AA batteries to operate. The clock is 8” across but the face is 6.5” across. It has hour, minute and second hands. What makes the clock unique is that a bird sings out every hour on the hour for about 12 seconds. There is build in light sensor that turns off the songs at night. If you do not want the songs at all, you can just take out the two batteries that operate the songs.
There are a few different singing bird clocks on the market with different birds and, different sizes and different frame material. Make someone happy – or not – give that person a singing bird clock.
