Morning Backyard Bird Feeders Activity

It was a busy morning at my backyard bird feeders.

There were the usually House Finches and Sparrows and quite a few Tufted Titmice at the sunflower seed feeder. A pair of Blue Jays also came by for some sunflower seed. I also saw three Cardinals on the ground looking for food and a pair of Mourning Doves that hung out on the fence awhile and than flew away.

A Woodpecker and a Wren also showed up for some peanut butter at my home-made suet and peanut butter feeder.

Here are some pictures that I managed to take of the birds.

Can someone indentify this bird?

First Post to my Backyard Birding Blog

My name is Eric and I live in Central New Jersey. After living in this area for 15 years and now that my backyard is basically is “finished,” I have decided to focus on attracting birds to my backyard and to take pictures of them. This blog is my place to record and share what I see in my backyard.

From my house I have seen a number of different birds visit the few bird feeders that I have setup in my backyard. The birds include, from most often to less often seen:

Robins
House Finches
Sparrrows
Mourning Doves
Cardinals
Blue Jay
Mockingbirds
Starlings
Pigeons
Tufted Titmice
Red-bellied Woodpeckers
White Breasted Nuthatch
Yellow Finch
Red Winged Blackbirds
Blue Birds
Hummingbirds
Hawks

I am planning to work on attracting more hummingbirds and Orioles next spring. I will be taking pictures of the birds that visit the feeders and post them on the bolg. Be sure to check back for the pictures.

Until next time....
